The non-custodial parents who took off with their kids in Queens last week were tracked down to Schenectady and arrested, officials said.
Eddie Bellas, 37, and Mekaybew McNeal, 27, took 8-month-old daughter Aaliyah Bellas and 4-year-old son Shiloh Bellas from their home on 98th Street near Jamaica Avenue in Woodhaven around 11:30 a.m. Thursday, police said.
Five days later, officials from the New York City Sheriff’s Office took the parents into custody Tuesday night in Schenectady, according to Sheriff Joseph Fucito.
Both parents were wanted on child abuse warrants out of family court, Fucito said.
The children were turned over to ACS custody.
Bellas and McNeal are awaiting their arraignments, which will be held over video conference, at the sheriff’s Bureau of Criminal Investigation in Long Island City, according to Fucito.
